Dec 1, 2008, beginning of new term at Barn Don Samran school, Bangsaphan district, on the playground, little children were running and playing pleasantly. There was so much change in their classroom. The new white T-bar ceiling was replaced to a dull plastic ceiling. The brand new fan was fixed instead of an old rusty one. The new painted wall took the place of an old worn-out wall. If we look behind the sermon hall of the Don Samran temple, we can see the new scene strange to the eyes with clean and lively look. All that can be done by the “SSI Arsa” project of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Public Company Limited (SSI) which brings in the company’s managements and employees along with the school’s teachers and the guardians and also the people nearby. All together these people has volunteered for the school renovating which fulfill the dream of children in Bangsaphan district who in the latter day will be the power that drive Bangsapahan into the future.
“Earth” Thanasak Keawkhow – 6 years old, one of students said excitedly that “My classroom has changed and I knew those kind men who have done an extraordinary thing like this. I’ve got a new room and new fan. SSI is the guy who’ve done this.”
“Prim” Supichya kleawporapak – a lovely plump 6 years old, told us the story that “our school has a lot of birds. The school was messed by the bird’s shit and sometimes the students were messed too. It was very smelly and dirty”. She also added after she saw a new room that she felt good because it was more beautiful and she liked it. Most of all she would like to say “Thank you for making my new classroom”
Every child here is happy today. All their friends come to visit and cheer for them. Moreover, they help their friends answer our questions.
After we could make the little children stay quietly, teacher Rattana Songlin, a kindergarten teacher, with 20 years experience in teaching and looking after the children here, told us the history of the school.
“Formerly, the school was built for multi-purpose building. We asked for some budget from the government, teachers, guardian and people who live in Bangsaphan in order to renovate the building. After Khun Win (Mr. Win Viriyaprapaikit, President of SSI) knew and came to see the school then he approved this project. This will renovate the building to be more pleasant for kindergarten. From painting to ceiling, which previously the classroom was very hot and humid, the student studied with their sweat. After changing the new ceiling, it looks brighter and cleaner. The students like it very much. I must say thank you to SSI” says the teacher.
“SSI Arsa” Project is one of many projects that SSI wish to make a better life for Bangsaphan people together with improve the quality of life in the community, especially, for the youth who is the future of Bangsaphan. This is our very important mission which SSI will promote and support these projects continuously.
เอสเอสไออาสา3 – เสียงขอบคุณเล็ก ๆ ของหนู ๆ ลูกหลานบ้านดอนสำราญ บางสะพาน
1 ธันวาคม 2551 วันเปิดเทอมใหม่ปลายปี ของเด็กๆ โรงเรียนอนุบาลบ้านดอนสำราญ อำเภอบางสะพาน ที่บริเวณสนามเด็กเล่น เหล่าเด็ก ๆ ตัวน้อยวิ่งเล่นด้วยความสนุกสนาน วันนี้พวกเขารู้สึกถึงหลายสิ่งหลายสิ่งที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปตามประสาของเด็กในระดับปฐมวัย ซึ่งในวันนี้เป็นวันเปิดเรียนของพวกเขา มีหลายสิ่งหลายอย่างที่เปลี่ยนแปลงไปกับห้องเรียน เพดานที่เคยเป็นพลาสติกกรองแสงเก่า ๆ กลับกลายเป็นฝ้าทีบาร์สีขาวสะอาดเอี่ยม พัดลมหมุนที่โดนสนิมกัดกิน จนไม่กล้ามีใครเปิด ก็เปลี่ยนเป็นพัดลมติดผนังใหม่แกะกล่อง สีผนังที่เคยหลุดร่อน ก็ถูกปรับปรุงทาสีใหม่จนผิดหูผิดตาไป

มองไปด้านหลังศาลาการเปรียญ(ศาลาทรงธรรม)ของวัดดอนสำราญก็ดูมีสีสันสดใส สะอาดผิดตา จากที่โครงการ “เอสเอสไอ อาสา” ของบริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) นำผู้บริหารและพนักงาน ร่วมกับครู ผู้ปกครอง และชาวบ้านในบริเวณใกล้เคียง ขันอาสาลงมือบูรณะซ่อมแซม จนสามารถเติมเต็มความฝันของลูกหลานชาวบางสะพานตัวน้อย ๆ ที่จะเป็นพลังขับเคลื่อนบางสะพานของเราให้เจริญก้าวหน้าต่อไปได้
“เอิร์ธ” เด็กชายธนศักดิ์ แก้วขาว อายุ 6 ขวบ หนึ่งในสมาชิกที่นี่ทำหน้าตาตื่นเต้นปนเขินก่อนบอกว่า วันนี่ที่นี่เปลี่ยนไปและยังรู้ด้วยว่าผู้ใหญ่ใจดีคนไหนที่ทำให้ห้องเรียนของเขาสวยขึ้นแบบนี้ “ เหมือนผมได้ห้องเรียนใหม่ แล้วก็ได้พัดลมใหม่ด้วยครับ เอสเอสไอและสหวิริยามาทำให้ใหม่ครับ”
เช่นเดียวกับสาวน้อย“ปริม” เด็กหญิงสุพิชญา แคล้วปรปักษ์ อายุ 6 ขวบ หนูน้อยตัวจ้ำหม้ำ นักเรียนของอนุบาลบ้านดอนสำราญ ที่เล่าประสบการณ์ที่น่าตื่นเต้นก่อนหน้านี้ให้ฟัง “โรงเรียนมีนกเยอะ นกขี้ใส่หัว ขี้ใส่โรงเรียน เหม็นก็เหม็น สกปรกด้วยค่ะ” และบอกกว่าหลังจากเห็นห้องใหม่แล้วรู้สึกดี เพราะว่ามันสวยขึ้น ใหม่ หนูชอบมากก่อนมีอะไรจะบอกกับพี่ๆ “ขอบคุณพวกพี่ ๆ ที่มาทำห้องเรียนให้หนูใหม่ค่ะ”
วันนี้หน้าตาของน้องๆที่นี่สดใสทุกคนเพื่อนตัวน้อย ๆ ของน้อง ๆ ทั้งสอง วนเวียนมาให้กำลังใจ และมาช่วยตอบกันเกือบทั้งห้อง
หลังจากที่ทำให้เหล่ามนุษย์น้อยสงบลง คุณครูรัตนา ส่งกลิ่น คุณครูอนุบาลผู้ที่มีประสบการณ์ในการสอนและดูแลเด็กเล็กมากว่า 20 ปี ได้เล่าประวัติความเป็นมาของโรงเรียนบ้านดอนสำราญ ให้พวกเราได้ทราบกัน
“แต่เดิมเป็นอาคารเรียนหลังนี้เป็นอาคารเอนกประสงค์ เราได้ของบประมาณจากทางราชการบ้าง จากครู ผู้ปกครอง และชาวบ้านบ้าง มาปรับปรุงให้อยู่ในสภาพพอใช้ได้ และเมื่อคุณวิน (วิน วิริยประไพกิจ กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี) ได้มาเห็นว่า ก็มีความเห็นว่า ห้องเรียนน่าจะสะอาดสอ้านกว่านี้ น่าอยู่มากกว่านี้ ให้เป็นเหมือนบ้านมากยิ่งขึ้น คุณวินก็เลยอนุมัติโครงการนี้ขึ้น ปรับปรุงอาคารเอนกประสงค์ ให้เป็นบ้านสำหรับเด็กนักเรียนอนุบาล ก็ดีขึ้นเยอะ ตั้งแต่สีสัน ฝ้าเพดาน ซึ่งเมื่อก่อนมันร้อนมาก บางทีเวลานั่งเรียน ร้อนมาก เหงื่อไหลเลย พอมีฝ้าใหม่รู้สึกว่าสะอาดสดใสขึ้นเยอะ เด็กนักเรียนก็ชอบ บรรยากาศก็ดีขึ้น สดใสขึ้น ขอขอบคุณบริษัทมา ณ โอกาสนี้ด้วย” คุณครูรัตนา กล่าว
โครงการเอสเอสไออาสานี้ นับเป็นอีกหนึ่งโครงการ ที่บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ เอสเอสไอ มุ่งมั่นที่จะสร้างสรรค์สังคมบางสะพานให้น่าอยู่ พร้อมกับยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของคนในชุมชน โดยเฉพาะเยาวชน ที่เป็นอนาคตของบางสะพาน ซึ่งนับเป็นพันธกิจที่สำคัญอย่างหนึ่งของบริษัทฯ ที่จะส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนโครงการเหล่านี้ต่อไปในอนาคต
