Mrs. Kesara Manchusree, Senior Vice President, The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) revealed that SET has selected eligible securities as the constituents of the SET 50 and SET100 indices for the first 6 months of 2011 (January 1 to June 30, 2011). The selection criteria are based on trading data backdated for 12 months (December 1, 2009 to November 30, 2010) and market capitalization backdated for 3 months.
Sahaviriya Steel Industries PCL (SSI) has been selected as 1 of the 6 newcomers in the SET50 index because its common stocks has high market value with consistent and high liquidity, just like 5 other securities which have also been newly selected, i.e. BTS Group Holdings PCL (BTS), Dynasty Ceramic PCL (DCC), Kiatnakin Bank (KK), Robinson Department Store PCL (ROBINS) and Sri Trang Agro-Industry (STA).
Top 50 eligible stocks shall be calculated for SET50 Index and top 100 stocks shall be calculated for SET100 Index. The next following 5 stocks (i.e. 51st – 55th stocks and 101st – 105th stocks shall be treated as replacements for the SET50 Index and SET100 Index respectively).

ตลาดหลักทรัพย์ฯคัดเลือกหุ้นSSI คำนวณดัชนี SET50
นางเกศรา มัญชุศรี ผู้ช่วยผู้จัดการตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย (ตลท.) เปิดเผย ว่า ตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทยได้คัดเลือกหลักทรัพย์ชุดใหม่ โดยใช้ข้อมูลการซื้อขายหลักทรัพย์ย้อนหลัง 12 เดือน (1 ธันวาคม 2552 ถึง 30 พฤศจิกายน 2553) และข้อมูลมูลค่าหลักทรัพย์ตามราคาตลาดย้อนหลัง 3 เดือน สำหรับการคำนวณดัชนี SET50 และดัชนี SET100 ในช่วง 6 เดือนแรกของปี 2554 ที่จะเริ่มใช้ตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 มกราคม – 30 มิถุนายน 2554
โดย บมจ.สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี (SSI) ได้รับการคัดเลือกจากตลาดหลักทรัพย์ให้เป็น 1 ใน 6 หลักทรัพย์ชุดใหม่ที่ใช้คำนวณดัชนี SET50 เนื่องจากมีความเคลื่อนไหวของราคาหุ้นสามัญที่มีมูลค่าตลาดสูงและการซื้อขายมีสภาพคล่องสูงอย่างสม่ำเสมอ เช่นเดียวกับอีก 5 หลักทรัพย์ที่ได้รับการคัดเลือก ได้แก่ บมจ.บีทีเอส กรุ๊ป โฮลดิ้งส์ (BTS) บมจ.ไดนาสตี้เซรามิค (DCC) บมจ.ธนาคารเกียรตินาคิน (KK) บมจ.ห้างสรรพสินค้าโรบินสัน (ROBINS) และบมจ.ศรีตรังแอโกรอินดัสทรี (STA)
สำหรับหลักทรัพย์ที่ผ่านเกณฑ์การคัดเลือก 50 ลำดับแรกจะใช้ในการคำนวณดัชนีSET50 ขณะที่หลักทรัพย์ 100 ลำดับแรกจะใช้ในการคำนวณดัชนี SET100 โดยมีหลักทรัพย์ 5 ลำดับถัดมาเป็นหลักทรัพย์สำรอง 5 หลักทรัพย์ สำหรับดัชนีแต่ละชุดด้วย
