Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. (SSI) took more than 60 teachers and students from Ban-Huay Saikao School, Ban-Suanluang School and Ban-Don Sumran School, on a study tour at hydroponic vegetable farm “Hydroponics Learning Center,” Ban Tha Kam School, Bangsaphan, Prachuap Khiri Khan, on 14 August 2014. The purpose of this tour is to spark off idea of starting their own hydroponic farm, learn to manage the farm and study hydroponic vegetable in current market situation.In 2014, SSI has expanded the Young Agriculturist Project to Ban-Huay Saikao School and Ban- Suanluang School, Bangsaphan, to support students to develop business skills, including production process, management and marketing skills. Moreover, hydroponic vegetable, produced from their own farm, will be cooked for school lunch and some will be sold to parents. Therefore, students will gain extra income from the project.

เอสเอสไอนำเยาวชนบางสะพานดูงานปลูกผักไฮโดรโปนิกส์

บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) เอสเอสไอ ได้นำตัวแทนคณะครู และนักเรียน โรงเรียนบ้านห้วยทรายขาว โรงเรียนบ้านสวนหลวง
และโรงเรียนบ้านดอนสำราญกว่า 60 คน เดินทางศึกษาดูงานการปลูกพืชไร้ดิน ระบบไฮโดรโปนิกส์ ณ ศูนย์เรียนรู้ต้นแบบการปลูกผักไฮโดรโปนิกส์ในสถานศึกษาโรงเรียนบ้านท่าขาม อ.บางสะพาน จ.ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ เมื่อวันที่ 14 สิงหาคม 2557 เพื่อเป็นการจุดประกายความคิดให้ผู้ศึกษาดูงานได้เรียนรู้กระบวนการขั้นตอนในการปลูก การบริหารจัดการแบบมืออาชีพ ความ และสถานการณ์ด้านการตลาดในปัจจุบัน
ในปี 2557 นี้ เอสเอสไอได้ขยายโครงการยุวเกษตรอินทรีย์ปลูกพืชไร้ดิน ระบบไฮโดรโปนิกส์ ไปยังพื้นที่โรงเรียนบ้านห้วยทรายขาว และโรงเรียนบ้านสวนหลวง เพื่อให้นักเรียนได้เรียนรู้ทักษะธุรกิจ ด้านการผลิต การบริหารจัดการ และด้านการตลาด โดยผลผลิตที่ได้จากโครงการฯ จะนำเข้าสู่โครงการอาหารกลางวันของโรงเรียน และจำหน่ายให้ผู้ปกครองและชุมชนต่อไป สำหรับนักเรียนที่เข้าร่วมโครงการฯ ก็จะมีรายได้เสริมในระหว่างเรียน
