Mr. Bongkarn Limprapan, Deputy Governor of Prachuap Khirikhan, presided the opening ceremony of “Organic Fertilizer Bank…the Sustainable Step to Progress” project, at Pong Prapas Branch, Tambon Pong Prapas, Amphur Bang Saphan, Prachuab Khirikhan. This project was for the villagers of Tambon Pong Prapas, so they can use it to manage and increase their agricultural products instead of using chemical fertilizer. Khun Win Viriyaprapaikit, President of Sahaviriya Steel Industries Plc. or SSI welcomed and reported about the project background, as SSI supported and provided budgets for this project as well as arranged the training courses on making of organic fertilizer to local people in the communities.

This project emphasized and encouraged the farmers in Bang Saphan to produce and use organic fertilizer instead of chemical fertilizer for their agricultures which can reduce production costs, increase income and preserve the environments at the same time. The operation plan was to make the farmers in each group produce fertilizers and sell them to the group members at cheaper prices than the market prices. The profits gained will be used to expand the production capacity and recruit new members until it covers all villages in each Tambon. This activity can increase capability of communities and local people on learning process and working together, as well as adjust and strengthen the community economic bases so they can be self-reliance which eventually can lead to sustainable development foundation.

Presently, SSI supported fertilization production in 2 Tambons, , i.e. Pong Prapas organic fertilizer group, which has Mr. Prasit Muendwong, as the group leader and Thongchai organic fertilizer group, which has Mr. Sumit Chutimit, as the group leader. At the beginning, the supporting budgets provided at the amount of Baht 120,000 for each Tambon has been used for purchasing equipments and procurement of raw materials and it made these 2 groups to be able to produce organic fertilizer 100 tons each. For the next phase, the Company planned to expand the “Organic Fertilizer Bank…the Sustainable Step to Progress” project to the farmers in other areas of Bang Saphan continually.

เอสเอสไอ เปิดตัวโครงการ “ธนาคารปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ ก้าวย่างอย่างยั่งยืน”

นายบงการ ลิมประพันธ์ รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดประจวบคีรีขันธ์ ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานเปิดโครงการ “ธนาคารปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ ก้าวย่างอย่างยั่งยืน” สาขา พงศ์ประสาสน์ ต.พงษ์ประศาสน์ อ.บางสะพาน จ.ประจวบคีรีขันธ์ มอบให้แก่ชาวบ้านใน ต.พงศ์ประศาสน์

ได้นำไปบริหารจัดการใช้ในการเพิ่มผลผลิตทางเกษตรแทนการใช้ปุ๋ยเคมี โดยมี นายวิน วิริยประไพกิจ กรรมการผู้จัดการใหญ่ บริษัท สหวิริยาสตีลอินดัสตรี จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือเอสเอสไอ ให้การต้อนรับและกล่าวรายงานถึงที่มาของโครงการ ในฐานะบริษัทผู้ให้การสนับสนุนงบประมาณการจัดทำโครงการและการจัดหลักสูตรอบรมการทำปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ให้แก่ชาวบ้านในชุมชน

ทั้งนี้โครงการดังกล่าวได้มุ่งเน้นส่งเสริมให้เกษตรกรในอำเภอบางสะพานผลิตและใช้ปุ๋ยอินทรีย์แทนการใช้ปุ๋ยเคมีในการทำเกษตรกรรม ซึ่งช่วยลดต้นทุนการผลิต เพิ่มรายได้ และอนุรักษ์สิ่งแวดล้อมควบคู่กันไป โดยมีแผนการดำเนินงานให้เกษตรกรในแต่ละกลุ่มทำการผลิตปุ๋ยและจำหน่ายให้กับสมาชิกในราคาถูกกว่าท้องตลาด นำกำไรที่ได้มาขยายกำลังการผลิต และเปิดรับสมาชิกให้เพิ่มมากขึ้นจนครอบคลุมทุกหมู่บ้านในแต่ละตำบล ซึ่งจะเป็นการเพิ่มขีดความสามารถของชุมชนและท้องถิ่นในการเรียนรู้และทำงานร่วมกัน พร้อมกับปรับฐานเศรษฐกิจของชุมชนให้เข้มแข็งและสามารถพึ่งตนเองได้ และนำไปสู่รากฐานการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนต่อไป

ปัจจุบันบริษัทได้ให้การสนับสนุนการจัดทำปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ใน 2 ตำบล ได้แก่ กองปุ๋ยอินทรีย์สาขาตำบลพงศ์ประศาสน์ มีนายประสิทธิ์ เหมือนวงศ์ เป็นประธานกลุ่ม และกองปุ๋ยอินทรีย์สาขาตำบลธงชัย มีนายสุมิตร ชูติมิตร เป็นประธานกลุ่ม ซึ่งเบื้องต้นทั้ง 2 แห่ง สามารถผลิตปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ได้แห่งละ 100 ตัน จากงบประมาณสนับสนุนที่ได้รับสำหรับเป็นค่าอุปกรณ์และจัดหาวัตถุดิบผลิตปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ตำบลละ 120,000 บาท ซึ่งในระยะต่อไปบริษัทจะได้มีแผนงานในการขยายโครงการ “ธนาคารปุ๋ยอินทรีย์ ก้าวย่างอย่างยั่งยืน” ให้แก่เกษตรกรในพื้นที่อื่นๆ ของอำเภอบางสะพานอย่างต่อเนื่องต่อไป
